In March of 2021, my husband and I found out we were pregnant with our son via IVF. After a 3.5-year wait, we welcomed him into our family with great joy in November 2021.
During my recovery from a C-section, I began an intense struggle with postpartum anxiety and depression. It was a very dark season—one I never would have expected after receiving our miracle. The enemy is tricky and deceiving that way. The lies he spoke to me were never louder than when I held our son. After months of wrestling with all of this, I finally began working with a Christian counselor virtually, and for the first time, I felt seen and heard.
Through our intensive work together and the power of the Holy Spirit, healing began. After several months, I felt empowered to ask for help when I needed it. I became comfortable taking authority over the lies the enemy spoke. These seemingly small wins rebuilt my faith. I began speaking life, healing, and redemption over my heart again. I could feel the Lord moving and working.
In the midst of my healing, I continued to co-lead our local Moms in the Making group. I’ve always had a passion for walking alongside other women in the wait and pointing them back to Jesus. But while this ministry was still incredibly needed, I deeply desired a community for moms who had walked through infertility.
At the time, there were virtual Moms Made groups, but the Lord kept stirring my heart to lead an in-person group. The enemy tried to silence that by saying, “You’re not ready.” I’m here to remind you: the Lord equips the called. He took one of the most challenging, dark seasons of my life and birthed something beautiful out of it. In July 2023, our local Moms Made group began meeting.
This group has been everything I hoped it would be and more. It includes breaking off lies and generational curses. It’s about being in the Word and calling each other higher as moms. It’s praying and contending for our children—believing they will walk out their lives in fierce boldness because their mamas’ hearts are healed, restored, and supported. Forever grateful for this Moms in the Making community!
