Two Miracle Babies With a Zero Morphology Diagnosis

My husband and I got married in 2017. We knew we wanted children right away. 10 months into our marriage, I had a gut feeling something was wrong. I went straight to a fertility clinic and asked for a full panel on my husband.

In 2018, we found out my husband had zero morphology, meaning all of his sperm was deformed. We left the clinic defeated. Our hearts were so heavy, but as children of God, we held on to a glimmer of hope. We decided to put our faith into action and do whatever we could on our end to help us grow our family.

In 2019, my husband underwent a varicocele repair in hopes that it would improve his morphology. After 3 months, a new sperm analysis showed that his numbers went from zero to 4%. This was huge for us. We felt the anticipation and the excitement that a baby might be close!

IVF terrified me. I felt like it was so invasive. We are extremely pro-life and I was scared of having way too many embryos than we wanted children. So, we opted to go with an IUI.

I underwent all the preliminary tests as well as an exploratory laparoscopy to rule anything out on my end. Everything was clear, thank God.

Our first IUI, we were so hopeful… but it didn’t work. We tried two more IUIs and they all failed. In 2020, after praying constantly for a family, we took the plunge for IVF. We did what’s called invocell which was more affordable for us.

We retrieved 12 eggs and 9 of them were viable. 1 became an embryo. After a fresh transfer, God answered our prayers. Psalm 113:9 became real! “He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord!”

We now have our beautiful baby boy, Gabriel, which means the Lord is my strength.

In 2022, we wanted a sibling. We tried another round which resulted in zero embryos. We were crushed. We had no idea where to go from there. We thanked God for our son but so strongly desired to give him a sibling. So after praying again, we decided on traditional IVF, which brought us 4 embryos. In 2023, we had another son, Levi, and we also have 3 embryos on ice. God is so good!
