Pregnant with Fraternal Twins After 5th Frozen IVF Transfer

family photoIn 2017 my husband and I were given a devastating diagnosis of both PCOS and Severe Male Factor giving us a less than 0% chance of conceiving on our own. We felt peace about pursuing IVF and completed our first round in January of 2018. From January 2018-September 2019 we did 3 complete IVF cycles with 5 frozen embryo transfers. We had our 5th frozen transfer on September 23, 2019 transferring embryos #11 and #12. We found out we were pregnant on October 2nd!

I was planning on attending the Moms in the Making conference the week after we found out we were pregnant and while in Dallas had to do my final HCG blood test. I had such fear and anxiety given our previous losses but I attended the conference knowing it was exactly where I needed to be at that time. I was surrounded by women who prayed over me, told the devil to flee, and worshiped with me believing we were going to see a victory this time. I received a prophetic card at the conference that said God was going to multiply my blessings. The next week I came home and at 6 weeks and 5 days we heard the most beautiful sound of 2 heartbeats! We were pregnant with fraternal twins. Our twin boys were born on May 27, 2020 via a scheduled c-section at 38 weeks. God allowed me to carry our precious miracles full term! God doesn’t place the desire to be a mother on our hearts with the intention of not fulfilling that promise.

At times, I felt God was far away during our journey but looking back, He was closer than I could’ve ever imagined. He never left our side and His timing was perfect. I can without a doubt say I wouldn’t be where I am today without Moms in the Making. Leading our Fort Myers group and connecting with all the amazing women around the world has been one of the most amazing experiences. The love, support and encouragement is truly irreplaceable. We were never meant to walk through life alone or carry our own burdens, let alone walk the journey of delayed fertility alone and I am so incredibly thankful for the powerhouse women of faith I have met through Moms in the Making.
