Pregnant Through IVF after Lost Tube

“After trying to get pregnant for 2 years, we didn’t have any answers. We had completed 4 medicated cycles with an RE, I had 2 surgeries, and we received the vague diagnosis of ovulation disorder and adhesions that did not seem to affect pelvis. After the 4th cycle, the RE said IVF was our only option under his care. Holding back tears, I told him no, I was never going to do IVF. The next few sermons at church felt like they were specifically for me. One line stood out, “God is still in the business of performing miracles.” I kept thinking about it. I strongly believed God performed miracles, but not for situations like mine. Miracles were for life threatening and really serious situations.
.
Less than a week later I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. We were overjoyed! Sadly 9 days later, we received the news that the embryo was in my left tube, which was bulging and could burst any moment. I had surgery that afternoon to remove the tube. It was the day after Christmas. As I recovered, I had such conflicting feelings. I was happy and confident we would conceive again, but I was terrified of having another ectopic to the point I didn’t want to try anymore.
.
I have been a Christian all my life and I pray and talk to God daily, but I never heard His voice so clearly. It took several times before I listened and trusted. God opened doors for me to learn about IVF and how we could pay for it. A little over a year after our loss, I delivered our baby girl, Jane. She is the answer to many prayers and a promise fulfilled in His perfect timing.”
