Pregnant through FET after Male Factor Diagnosis

husband and wife with baby

My husband and I were married in June of 2017 and knew we wanted to start our family right away. After about 6 months of trying with no success, I found myself praying for two pink lines for Christmas. My Christmas wish was not fulfilled, but the Lord told me to paint the room that would be our nursery. We painted the room blue and waited with faith.

Six months later, we got the call that my husband had absolutely no sperm in his sample. We were devastated and confused on how to move forward. After much prayer, we chose to do a procedure that would allow them to retrieve what they needed from my husband so that we could move forward with IVF/ICSI. Our egg retrieval was a success and we had 13 beautiful embryos to use. When we went to the Christmas program at our church – the Lord spoke to me. The words “you will conceive and give birth to a son” from Luke 1:31 were on the screen and it felt like time stopped. These words became a promise my heart clung to.

I attended my first Moms in the Making conference just weeks before our IVF cycle. While I was there, I met dozens of women who were on fire with the spirit in spite of the longing in their hearts for a baby. They were a model for me of how I could live my life in complete joy and love for the Lord, even while walking through one of the darkest times of my life.

On December 17th, 2018 we did our very first Frozen Embryo Transfer. I decided to test early, and we learned just a few days before Christmas that we were pregnant! Our son was born on September 6th, 2019.

We have great hope that in 2021 we are being called to grow our family again, and at the Lord’s guidance will move forward with a sibling cycle soon. He is good, He is faithful, and He will do it again!
