18 Jul Our Miracle Baby Was Born on Our 9th Anniversary
We were married in November of 2013. My biggest dream was to be a mom, so we couldn’t wait to start our family right away. As months passed with negative pregnancy tests, we decided to seek medical advice. After some testing, we found that my husband had low sperm count, and I had high FSH. We were referred to a fertility specialist where we learned that IVF was our only option to conceive.
We had many cancelled cycles, a failed IVF transfer in 2014 and 2016, and an ectopic pregnancy in 2017, resulting in an emergency surgery. At this point, I wasn’t sure that my dream of having my own children would ever come true. I started leaning into God more each day. He was the only way I could find peace and stay hopeful. I found Caroline’s blog, In Due Time, and attended the Moms in the Making conference in 2019 and 2020. It was a breath of fresh air to be around other women walking through the same journey as I was. I started digging into the Word and read several books about gaining hope and learning to cling to God’s promises. Although I wanted to give up, He kept nudging me to keep trying.
In 2021, we decided to give IVF another shot in a city 6 hours away. God provided in so many ways during this time. It just so happened that my husband got his pilot’s license that year. So, traveling back and forth to our appointments was way more convenient. A condo was also provided for us by a friend. At breakfast on the morning of our transfer, our waitress’s name was Gracyn. That was what we wanted to name our daughter if we had one. We took this as a sign that we were going to be pregnant with a little girl.
We got a positive pregnancy test in March of 2022! Our baby girl, Gracyn was born on November 30th, 2022, our 9th wedding anniversary!
I could go on and on about how God was working behind the scenes for the last 9 years He gave me many signs that we would one day have a baby. Without my journey, I wouldn’t have the faith, patience, and strength I have today. God is good and He never breaks His promises!
