Miracle Daughter Through Adoption

“Ryan and I have been married for 10 years this past August. Just a few months after getting married, I began asking for a baby. We were both still in college and it really just wasn’t a good idea to start a family at that time. Fast forward 2.5 years later and we decided to start trying for a baby. After one year without success and diagnosed endometriosis with large cysts covering my ovaries, I went in for surgery. Doctor then gave us 6 months to try on our own without medical intervention. After 6 months of trying we decided that it was best to give my body some rest time. We prayed and asked God to make it clear on what we should do. During these months, I felt that God was tugging at my heart about adoption. I fought so hard against Him because it wasn’t in my plan. During this time, I would casually mention the idea of adoption to my husband but he wasn’t there yet, so I just continued to pray for him and that God would change his heart. God heard my prayers.

We were lead specifically to an agency through lots of research, prayer, and many unexpected coincidences. It’s amazing what happens when you are obedient to God’s calling because 8 months later, I got THE CALL. A birth mother had chosen us. We were able to visit with her over the phone that evening and were officially matched with her the following day. We were over the moon excited! We were going to have a baby girl in 4 short weeks. 2 days before Christmas. That following Sunday, 6 days later, our Adoption Center called to tell us that our birth mother was in labor and that we needed to get there as soon as possible. That day we were able to love on our daughter, her birth mother, and her family. Our daughter was the best Thanksgiving Gift that we have ever received. To this day we continue to have an open relationship with our daughter’s birth mother and pray that it continues for years to come.

Adoption IS our story. Adoption IS love. Adoption made me a mommy.”
