God Made a Way For Us to Adopt Debt-Free

When God whispers in your ears “Debt Free Adoption” you can’t help but laugh a little. That is exactly what I did when God was speaking to me one night even before we announced to the world that we were going to adopt. How is a debt free adoption even possible? All that I saw was a huge mountain standing in front of us. Adoption is very expensive unfortunately. We heard stories of people having to get loans, taking second mortgages on their houses and going into major debt trying to adopt. But when God kept telling us debt free I knew this was something we were just going to have to trust Him on.

Well after 2 years of trusting God to move that giant mountain of money that was standing in our way – we are officially debt free for our adoption!! 2 years filled with lots of praying, fundraising, cooking, blood, sweat, and buckets of tears and we finally did it! I remember many times tuning into the live prayer nights over on the Moms in the Making Facebook page and Caroline praying over our adoption and especially over our dream of being debt free in our adoption. When God calls you to something, He will most definitely ALWAYS give you everything you need and that includes Him surrounding you with people who want to partner up with you in standing in agreement and keep you in prayer throughout the entire journey!

When we started our journey to be debt free for our adoption we clung onto Matthew 17:20, “He replied, ‘Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Now 2 years later we get to claim VICTORY!!!! God moved that mountain of $26,000 because we held onto our faith and all the faith of our family and friends who supported us the entire way!! Now we get to proclaim 2 Timothy‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NIV “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Our adoption is not over yet, we are still waiting to be matched with our birth family but this is a huge victory for us and we give Him all the Glory!!
