16 Feb God Brought Our Daughters Through Foster Care

My husband Mathew and I got married July 26, 2014. From the start of our marriage we both wanted to start a family right away. As many of you know our plans are not always God’s plans. For a few years we went through several rounds of fertility drugs and treatments, all with the same outcomes. When you are praying so hard for something and it feels like God can’t hear you or He simply isn’t listening, let me tell you, He hears every word. He knows the desires of our hearts. Just because He doesn’t give us those desires right away doesn’t mean He has forsaken you.
In October of 2017 we became licensed foster parents. We had three kiddos placed in our home. They became our world, we thought for sure they would be a part of our family forever, but God had other plans. They left us in February of 2018 and our hearts were broken. What we didn’t know was just two months later, on April 5, 2018 to be exact, two precious girls would come into our home. These girls would steal our hearts just as fast as our hearts had broken.
For the next two years we would watch them grow and we would fall even deeper in love with them. Foster care is hard, there is no doubt about that. Many times we were not sure if they would be leaving us or if they would get to stay forever. Our prayer was always that God’s will be done. On May 26, 2020 we got the news we had waited so long for. They were going to be ours forever. We had prayed so many times that God would bless us with children. Well here He was giving us what we prayed for. Not how we originally thought it would happen, but His plan is always greater.
On Sept 29, 2020 we got to adopt our sweet girls and I thank God every day for it!
