The power of saying “Yes” when God calls you to do something…
Our Indiana Moms in the Making group almost didn’t exist this year.
At the time, I was already leading a Moms Made group and a small group at my church. I didn’t think I had the capacity to lead another one. Yet, as the semester start date approached, I began to sense the Holy Spirit calling me to step out and lead a second group—an in-person MITM group.
There were several perceived obstacles, and every time I began to list them in my mind, the Holy Spirit provided an answer.
“When would we meet? I don’t have time…”
Answer: “On the opposite Tuesday of your Moms Made group.”
Answer: “On the opposite Tuesday of your Moms Made group.”
“I think I missed the deadline…”
Answer: “Reach out and ask anyway.”
Answer: “Reach out and ask anyway.”
“Who’s even going to join…?”
Answer: “Leave that to Me (the Lord).”
Answer: “Leave that to Me (the Lord).”
Within a day of forming the group, two ladies joined. By the end of the semester, we were a group of six women—each with a unique story and each with a desperate need for connection and a hope-filled community.
I have met some of my closest friends this semester, and I wouldn’t have known them at all if I hadn’t said “Yes” to the prompting to lead.
I don’t know what God is calling you to do, but I do know this: When you answer with a resounding “Yes,” you will be amazed at what God does with your faithfulness.
