Naturally Pregnant After a 4% Chance

A few days after my first miscarriage, we had a house fire and were displaced for a year and a half. Six months after our first loss, I experienced a second miscarriage.

We did IVF and during the process, 18 eggs were retrieved, resulting in six embryos, but only one was viable. The embryo transfer failed, and the doctor said I had only a 4% chance of getting pregnant.

It was the most painful experience. I experienced intense grief and questioned God. Yet through it all, I felt so connected to my husband, and God was with us even when I didn’t feel Him.

Mother’s Day was incredibly hard, but I received a prophetic word about a Mother’s Day miracle—that I would become pregnant and that fear would bow to the name of Jesus after my miscarriages.

Despite the diagnosis and the doctor’s report, I got naturally pregnant, likely having conceived on or around Mother’s Day. I took three pregnancy tests just to be sure. I’m over 40 and have moved back into a home that is even better than the one we lost in the fire.

Moms in the Making was a godsend. I had stumbled across it, but God used it and the women to bring so much healing. It was refreshing and exactly what I needed—to share my pain and loss with others who understood, while, at the same time, holding on to faith, God’s Word, and His promises on my behalf when I couldn’t because my grief was so intense and I was so angry with God. It’s beautiful to have women in different stages of the journey, all walking together.

I have recommended it to others because walking through infertility with others is powerful and vital. There is an enemy trying to steal, kill, and destroy, but our God is greater, and He uses what the enemy meant for harm for good. Jesus wastes nothing, and He holds every tear we shed!
