I’ve been married to the love of my life, Ben, for 11 years. Like many couples, we wanted children but focused on our careers first. Four years into our marriage, we still hadn’t conceived, and in 2019, I discovered I had diminished ovarian reserve while trying to donate eggs to my sister. That moment began years of infertility treatments, appointments, and injections.
At the same time, our marriage was struggling. I seriously considered divorce, believing it might be the only way out. In the middle of that hopeless season, I felt the Lord give me a clear promise: our marriage would be restored, and we would conceive a child naturally.
Instead of turning to social media or the opinions around me, I brought every tear, fear, and frustration to God. While He was healing my heart, He was also working in my husband. Our marriage slowly transformed as we began seeking the Lord together and making Him the center of our relationship.
By then, we were in our 40s and still childless. After seeing multiple fertility specialists and experiencing six embryo losses, I had run out of options. The Lord gently asked me, “Are you ready to stop striving?” Finally, I said yes.
During that time, I began leading a Moms in the Making group for women struggling with infertility. In the past year, four women in that group miraculously became pregnant, and hope began to rise in my heart again.
Then, after years of waiting, it happened. Last year, we conceived naturally, just as the Lord had promised.
Doctors warned us about miscarriage risks because of my age, but we chose to trust God’s Word. At 12 weeks, our miscarriage risk dropped to less than 1%, and every test showed a healthy baby.
I know the Lord opened my womb. He first healed our marriage, then our hearts, and finally my body.
For anyone waiting on God’s promise: He is never late. He is always right on time. Habakkuk 2:3 “Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”
