My husband and I have been TTC for over 4 years. After a year of trying, we did all the tests and were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Frustrated that there was no “real reason” medically that we couldn’t get pregnant, we knew it just wasn’t God’s timing yet.
Throughout that next year, we did 5 rounds of IUI, all of which were unsuccessful. That year was the most trying time of my life. My faith was tested, I cried more tears than I’d like to admit, and I was starting to lose hope.
I came across a flyer at our fertility clinic about Moms in the Making. I decided it wasn’t for me and forgot all about it. When I went back a few months later, I saw the flyer again and had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to take it home and learn more about it. That night, after lots of research, I knew this was exactly what I needed. I signed up immediately for a group, but it just so happened that I joined at the very last session and attended the holiday parties. However, just those few short times being there made me realize I needed to continue the next semester!
This November marks 3 years of attending a Moms in the Making group, and I’ll be attending my 2nd conference. It truly has changed my life! To be part of a community of women who understand and celebrate/grieve with you is just what my heart needed. The Lord restored my hope and faith, I am confident in His plan and timing for my journey, and I have learned to trust Him with my whole heart. I have been filled with more joy than heartache and have learned so much about God’s Word for the barren woman.
The Lord called my husband and me to become foster parents. We have fostered 20+ kids in almost 2 years. In January 2024, we said ‘yes’ to a 4-day-old baby boy. Nineteen months later, in August 2025, we had the most special day of our lives when we officially adopted him. The last year and a half was the most challenging yet rewarding time for us. He is our biggest blessing, and we are proud to be his parents! We are still praying and believing for our biological miracle baby and that our son will be a big brother.
