My husband Josh and I began trying for a baby as soon as we got married in 2021. I vividly remember my OB at the time telling me, “You’re fertile, now frolic.” We eventually realized that the fertile part was not the case for us.
We tried for a year before reaching out to my OB for help. I was diagnosed with PCOS. We did countless rounds of Clomid and underwent testing for another year before turning to a fertility clinic for help.
Around this time, a friend from high school invited me to a Moms in the Making meeting. I was in a dark place and did not jump on the offer right away. She then dropped a care package on my doorstep, which made me feel led to check it out. Looking back, making that leap was the best decision I made for my fertility journey.
The Moms in the Making group is a two-hour round-trip drive for each meeting, but it has been worth every mile. Those girls supported me through the lowest points of my life and cheered me on through three cycles of Letrozole with trigger shots, two IUIs, countless tests, and a round of IVF. I truly could not have done it without my Moms in the Making family and the prayers from so many people.
Moms in the Making gave me the courage to share my story and helped me introduce more girls to this community. I know they will see their miracles soon, too.
My husband and I are so grateful for the support we received through our journey. We now look forward to raising our miracle girl, who is expected to arrive in late summer 2025, surrounded by the Moms in the Making family we found during this season. I often wonder why we had to struggle so long to have a baby, but I remind myself that this journey led me to a group of women and their families to do motherhood with — connections I would have never made otherwise. God is so faithful in so many ways.
