God led me to Moms in the Making in 2023. At that point, my husband and I had been trying for a baby for two years, and I felt so alone in my journey. I didn’t know anyone else struggling with infertility. My friends were very supportive, but they didn’t fully understand the complexities of what I was going through. That’s when Moms in the Making changed my life. After my first virtual group meeting, I bought a ticket for the 2023 annual conference in Dallas.
In 2024, I attended the conference again—this time pregnant with my son. By God’s grace, our first fertility procedure was successful. I can’t even begin to count how many people prayed for me and my baby because, honestly, I’ll never know. The MITM community is so vast, and I know there were people praying for us whom I’ve never even met. I watched women I love go through heartbreaking experiences, but still, they were genuinely happy for me.
MITM has given me priceless friendships. At the conference last year, I had to go to the ER for fear of DVT, and a friend spent six hours with me, missing the VIP portion she had signed up for. Last year, I flew to visit another MITM friend and meet her 2-month-old baby girl. I’ve watched multiple friends come to group feeling hurt and hopeless, only to see God heal them, strengthen their marriages, and later, become MITM leaders themselves.
As I write this, I’m holding my baby boy. If you can believe it, this group has made me thankful for experiencing infertility. The Lord has used Moms in the Making to turn my mourning into dancing.
