From Heartbreak to Hope

My first experience with Moms in the Making was a profound encounter with the love of Jesus, pouring into my life through their incredible support team. This came after our second loss, during the height of COVID, when spouses had to remain in the car during appointments. My husband and I had just celebrated the joy of our 9-week pregnancy, eagerly anticipating our check-up, but sadly, the ultrasound tech couldn’t detect a heartbeat. Our baby was born into heaven, leaving my heart shattered, my hope stripped away, and words of death spoken over me in isolation.

Yet, even in the midst of this deep pain, I found that words of life were waiting for me. The first one arrived in the form of a word bracelet that simply said “HOPE,” sent by my best friend who had taken a leap of faith to join the MITM leadership team the following semester. Watching how this ministry had strengthened her walk with Jesus and transformed her into a valiant prayer warrior inspired me to take my own step of faith. I signed up to join her group, unsure of what to expect but willing to trust God with my heartache.

Being part of a group created a safe space to share the raw and often overwhelming emotions that come with infertility. I was surrounded by a community of kingdom-minded women who understood the heartache of yet another negative pregnancy test, but who also offered love, encouragement, and prayer in the waiting. These women are like spiritual athletes, training themselves to take their thoughts captive, realigning them with Christ when the enemy tries to keep them in bondage.

For a while, I tried to fill the emptiness and heal my brokenness on my own. But MITM became a beacon of hope, gently pointing me back to Jesus. His healing presence restored me in ways I could never have achieved on my own. All glory to Him for the inner healing and restoration I now experience!
