When I met my husband, we knew we wanted to start trying to grow our family as soon as we got married. I never thought I would have problems conceiving and imagined that in a month or two, I would be sharing happy news. Month after month, my hopes were dashed. As anyone who has walked the road of infertility knows, it is a rollercoaster. I had started a journal of prayers, and it soon became my outlet during the hard moments—when I saw cheerful announcements or when well-meaning family asked when they could expect a little baby joining our family. Even now, I can feel the literal chest-throbbing heart cries as I begged God to fill my womb with life.
Later that fall, I finally visited an OB who gave me the crushing news that I had severely low AMH of 0.23 and needed to go straight to a fertility clinic. We were told our chance of conceiving was less than 2% and that it would most likely be gone within the year. We voiced our convictions about not doing IVF, so the doctor did two medicated cycles with one IUI, and I had a chemical pregnancy. Then Covid hit, and the world stopped.
During that time, the Lord moved our hearts to pursue embryo adoption. We had heard of it before we even knew we would face infertility, and had both wanted adoption to be part of our family, but hadn’t felt led to move forward yet. I also joined a Moms in the Making virtual group I found after googling infertility, and a few weeks later, I bought my conference ticket for the coming fall. The women I met were so encouraging as we shared our journeys, and it was life-changing to be able to meet them, cry together, and pray and worship at the conference.
Our second transfer of two embryos that December resulted in miracle twin boys. The whole pregnancy and delivery were so hard, but the Lord heard our prayers and brought the three of us safely through. I was finally able to attend another conference in 2023, and again in December—three years after our successful embryo transfer—the Lord filled my womb with miracle twin boys, completely spontaneously!
The Lord’s plan for my life was far better than anything I could have dreamed, and there is NOTHING He cannot do!
