In August 2018, after sitting through a two-day conference in folding chairs, I stood up and felt intense pain in my pelvic area. By the time I got home, my pelvis had gone out of alignment. I was picked up from the floor, went to the chiropractor, was bedridden for a week, and from that point on, I was never the same.
At first, the pain was an 8–9 out of 10. Over time, I learned how to manage it and eventually accepted it as something I just had to live with.
For years, I dealt with chronic pain and instability. At times, my right leg would become shorter due to the misalignment. I stopped wearing high heels, avoided workouts like burpees and squats, and constantly stretched just to manage daily life. Sitting too long, stress, or long car rides would trigger severe pain in my lower back and pelvis. Eventually, the pain became my normal.
During our recent Moms in the Making leader retreat, one of the leaders said they felt led to pray for someone with pelvic pain. I hesitated at first, unsure if it was for me. But in that very moment, the pain began flaring up, and I started doing the stretches I normally used to cope. I raised my hand, and Caroline asked how long I had been dealing with it and how bad the pain was. I shared that I had dealt with it for 8 years and that the pain was at a 5 because I had learned to “live with it.”
As soon as I said those words, I heard the Holy Spirit clearly say, “You DON’T have to live with the pain.”
They prayed over me while I sat in my chair. When I stood up, I began walking around and realized something was different. Then I did a burpee, something I had avoided for years because it would normally cause my body to lock up. But there was no pain. To make sure, I even “dropped it like it’s hot.” After returning home, I still have absolutely no pain.
I’m healed because God still does miracles! If you have pain in your body, cling to my testimony today. What He did for me, He can do for you!
